Experience with Experteer

Has anybody got experience with https://www.experteer.com/?

The focus on 60K+ jobs and I spoke to a headhunter in Germany who told me that it works very well.

thanks!

It depends on how you want to work with it.
For candidates is's some kind of strange. You can be am member, but can't see all ad's unless you pay for it.
So where is the benefit for candidate's?
If you would like to buy a property, would you pay only to see the brochure?
So I doubt, that the high potentials are in there.
I would also say that you will find more high potentials in communities like Xing etc.

Micha Roon said...

the most disturbing part is thaqt they say they focus on high paying jobs but no job offer has an actual salary in it. all the salaries you'll see are estimates by experteer which is worth nothing.

there is no guarantee that the job will be a well paid one.

Anonymous said...

Joined this and paid the fee to see if it was worth any more.

DO NOT JOIN! Like they comment above it is more of a scam. They have the same jobs listed sometimes 20 times as well as their "expected salaries"

On top of that I got another "automatic debit" on my bank account for a "renewal" that was in place that you do not see in the small print and they were NOT willing to cancel the subscription.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!

You should never have to pay for finding or getting a job. They use phishing tactics like a dating site... the place false misleading emails, trying to make you think your profile is being reviewed, headhunters and firms are looking for you and sending you messages, but you first must become a premium member... thing is, I never filled out my profile, I left it blank with filler text just as a test to later fill it out.... so who would be interested? IT'S BS and I've proven it.

They also sell off your email address, as Ive been getting repeating spam since I signed up...

SCAM SCAM SCAM

Anonymous said...

They are absolute scam, will autorenew your payments and not care in the least about you. Please do not join!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

How do you stop them taking the payment each month off your card, do you have to cancel the card?

Anonymous said...

This is a complete waste of time and money. All they are in business to do is get your subscription. They are not there to find you a job. If you are serious about a job, look somewhere else. Most people want something for nothing, these people will give you nothing for something.

Anonymous said...

Dear all,

Thanks for saving me from entering into a obvious SCAM on www.experteer.com. Hope you're doing well in your search.

Anonymous said...

Good you did not join, I have just been charged for an automatic renewal without email notification. And I have tried to get money back... NO WAY!

Waste of time and money.

Anonymous said...

Thank you all for your comments.
you just saved me the trouble. ;)

Anonymous said...

Thanks for all your comments. When I stumbled over Experteer I found it odd one had to register at all. A quick web search for reviews of this site confirmed my suspicion...

tragamonedas said...

I found experteer while looking for a job and was suspicious to say the least. The site sure looks good, but very few job listings and repeated emails with misleading headings such as "Has a headhunter contacted you?"... even if I hadn't filled my profile at all!

This is plain SCAM.

Anonymous said...

It's a scam. And in my area (Italy) I think that they even get as far as paying recuitment agencies to contact you for fake job searches, because you cannot see the offer if you don't join and, weird, the agency was from a remote location in Italy and, at the last minute, they "dropped" the meeting because "the recruiter wasn't able to stay there anymore...he needed to come back here". Ludicrous!

Anonymous said...

Experteer is only out to get your money.. Don't join!
I found the email adress of the webmaster to complain about them spamming me.

Their response was that I have to contact my emailprovider because it isn't their fault they send me smap.. come on!

It's a big hoax!

Anonymous said...

FORGET ABOUT IT !!!
I did join it, and as a magic, as soon as I was in those jobs advertised (partly obscured b4 joining) were not in anymore, on top of that most of jobs posted are fake, you don't get an answer.

BE CAREFUL, they also have an automatic re-bill in place and in order to STOP their emails the only way is to block experteer sende.

How can that be such a joke ?

Anonymous said...

the police must arrest these scammers immediately

Is this really a scam.....?

It should be investigated.....

I belong to a organisation that has contracted a JOB TRANSITION COMPANY to provide advice and guidance to people who are about to leave the organisation to find new jobs / careers.

In the next 12 months the organisation is going to make thousands of people redundant who will be seeking advice and guidance from the JOB TRANSITION COMPANY. I am one of those persons who is leaving the organisation in the next few weeks. The last I and the other people need is to be hindered in our job / career searches by scams.

It should be noted that this recruitment agency, and others that look suspiciously similar, is NOT listed on the JOB TRANSITION COMPANIES list of Useful Job Search Websites.

Not with standing this...

I will be asking the JOBS TRANSITION COMPANY to investigate in order to provide sound advice to those other people who are about to leave the organisation.

I will be bringing this web page to the COMPANY's attention.

In the last two days I've had 263 spam emails to the same email address from this outfit. Hard to take anyone seriously that sends that volume of spam - I've had to create a special rule to divert all their rubbish straight into the bin.

Anonymous said...

I tend to agree with the view of all. I became a member, and truly enough, couple of experteer's so called external recruiters' checked my profile and some even made contact. The moment I got in touch with them, they didn't bother to respond back. But the experteer site claimed, I have been contacted and added it to my profile. Makes one think, whether the external recruiters in Experteer's portfolio are also into this scam!
I withdrew my membership and raised the question hoping they would make an honest attempt to answer, only to be told they are sorry and to make this work, I should take a one month subscription and then they will monitor and help. When having charged for service already with 'zero' result, why would one want to spend more? Stay away from this site!!!

Anonymous said...

It smells like scum and looks like scum. Now after having read the comments above, I see it's a scum. Luckily I never joined them.

Pierpaolo Pecchiari, Milan, Italy said...

A well conceived trick to get your money for nothing... Have my CV there from 2 years, without any result. Now I started receiving mails warning me that I should "upgrade my subscription" to get in touch with a pretending "head hunter". Problem is that I have 15 years of experience in operations management and, more recently, bizdev with industries and engineering firms specialized in the environmental and energy industry, while this guy would like to contact me about an opening as "Business Unit Director - Food & Beverage industry". I don't know how "headhunters" operate nowadays, but it seems just a lure...

Anonymous said...

Absolute scam. I paid for a subscription for a year and wasn't contacted by headhunters.

Now that I'm not paying apparently everyone wants to contact me, but of course I must pay for another year to find out who these mysterious headhunters are.

A total farce!

Anonymous said...

With so many sites available that can help find you a job for free, why would you hand money over to these (and this is putting it kindly) SHARKS?

Peter-Paul Fursen said...

Fraud!!! These guys are THIEVES. DO NOT TRUST THEM! I used their "premium services" for a year. Lost my money... And after a year of not doing anything they took advantage of the T&Cs and charged me another year, although I sent them many emails stating that I do not want to receive anymore their services! They said I should have done it via the website. Finding the hidden cancellation button was almost impossible!

STAY AWAY FROM experteer!!!

Colonialpara said...

Here in the USA, there is a company called THE LADDERS that made claims much like EXPERTEER and they also charge a fee. Many folks thought their behavior to be unethical and downright fraudulent. My review of what Experteer is doing reminds me of THE LADDERS and makes me wonder if they ARE THE LADDERS operating under another name. It would be interesting to find out if this is true.

Anonymous said...

Experteer is a SCAM but sometime can also be a rip off..

Anonymous said...

Stay away!! I bought a 3 month Premium membership. This achieved nothing. Two days after I have removed my details and cancelled the subscription, I have received a contact request from a "headhunter", who is desperate to talk to me about a €100k/year job. MIRACLE!
I have to take premium membership again to find out the identity of this person.....
Well done Dr Gottsch. Excellent scam.

Anonymous said...

Thank you all for your comments and reviews. I found it strange that for everything, one had to upgrade and pay, even to respond to a headhunter. This was very strange. Thanks to all your comments, saved me paying.

Anonymous said...

Great Blog! I was about to purchase a 3 months subscription and luckily checked Experteer reviews to see that not 1 comment was in favor.
Thanks all

This is a P.O.S. job board -- seriously -- a German firm with an inside track on highend US job market???

I tried it and had more recruiters from Monster.com. Also, TheLadders and IvyExec offer the same listings as Experteer.

Worse, they won't let you cancel unless you are in the middle of your subscription period.

They are BOGUS, BOGUS, BS BOGUS.

Stay away for this racket.

Einar Jón said...

About 7 hours after I signed up I got this email from them:
This is your final call to save up to 25% on a Premium Membership.

Hurry up! You have only a few hours left!

This is your last chance... seize this opportunity

I really think that's just so rude, so I deleted the account.

This is a useless site. Lots of the jobs advertised are no longer open for applications. The "Premium" service allows headhunters to contact you but, but not serious ones. Also when you sign up they try and take another payment without any warning and then refuse a refund. Got my credit card company to have it cancelled. Beware - this is just a scam.

I joined with a basic account as I would never pay a job site. A day after I activated the account I got an email telling me that I had messages waiting from people that has seen my profile and wish to offer me a prolific amount of money for a job. Well here's the thing.....I had only entered a small amount of info on the profile and it kept giving me messages that I needed to put more info in as the profile could not been seen by recruiters...hummmm...how then were these recruiters managing to contact me. A quick DELETE of the profile followed. Yet another bunch of sharks in Europe trying to scam you. My advice, register with decent and well known sites and network, network, network. Good luck in finding that job, it is out there.

Few days ago I found a link from LinkedIn to this Experteer and joined the site, posted my CV but nothing happened. They seem to have a huge list of jobs but you can access only few of them, for the rest you have to pay. I was about to do it right now and said to myself let see at least one review about these guys and fell on this one. I would like to say thanks to all of you who shared their experience. I am going to delete my profile right now.
Ah, and I will report this to LinkedIn.

Experteer is a worthless! There is no obvious way of cancelling your monthly payment once you start paying. The service is worthless, you get lots of emails saying that some recruiters have messaged you or are interested in profiles like yours. Turns out that after months and months nothing really happens. Don't waste time and money on experteer.com

And where do they get off having you put your age in the registration form? It's not a legal question during an interview, so why do they get away with it? You can ask for years of experience in a particular industry, but profiling by birthdate in this era of ageism??
